Our first fancy dinner party

Last night, our friends Jody and Carolyn threw a dinner party.  About a month ago, Mike mentioned to them that a dinner party would be fun, and Carolyn said she would like an opportunity to use her good dishes and silver.  So, last night, we went to their house, along with Harold (Mike's co-worker) and Sabrina (Harold's girlfriend and Carolyn's sister).

Carolyn is an amazing cook!

And Jody is a really great waiter.  (We made him put the cloth napkin on his arm as he passed the food around.)  :)

Harold and Sabrina are adorable!

Oh, and I forgot to mention Sabrina's sweet dog, Emmy.  She's the kind of dog that makes me like dogs.

The table was gorgeous...

...right down to the candles and fresh flowers.

Oh, and the teeny-tiny salt (well, in this case balsamic vinegar) spoons.  Cuteness!

First course -- a cranberry something of some kind.  (No, I don't know what to call it, but it was pretty and delicious!)

Dinner was amazing -- everything was so good!

Carolyn made lime sorbet for dessert.  Gonna be honest, I looked at this and wonders (mainly because of the basil).  But, I was pleasantly surprised!

This makes me want to invite some friends over for dinner.  As I've said before, Mike makes a fantastic roast duck.  It would be a great excuse to buy some plates like these.  I might need to get some tiny spoons first.  :)

What a fun night. Dessert looks yummy, even though I'm not usually a lime-dessert person! :-)
