I'm all a-twitter!

Check out my "twitter updates" on the left. Just discovered what twitter was today -- kinda like Facebook status updates, but you can update from your phone or IM.

Sadly, I have no twitter friends. :( If you twitter, feel free to add me: Bekka's Twitter Page.

Random tidbits...

Wow -- long time no post! I'm drowning in a sea of end-of-the-school-year stuff. Standardized testing (yuck!), grades, restless students...

And my grad class starts next week. Oh joy. (Actually, it's a networking class, and I really like the professor, so it shouldn't be so bad! Just the idea of driving there two night a week after work gets me!)

I'm totally hooked on playing Scramble on Facebook!

Haven't done much scrapping lately...just haven't felt creative this week. But I did finish my page for the next Scrapstars challenge...let me just tell you guys that the next challenge is going to be so much fun!!!

I started jogging last week -- I think I'm trying to shape up a little before my 10 year high school reunion in June. I haven't let myself go that much, but I'd like to get myself into some of my clothes from a few years ago. The last time I jogged, I got pretty far...I don't know any exact distances, but I know it was far for me! :)

And I'll leave you with this picture: Lola jumped onto the exercise bandwagon, too! :D

My big news...

Go here: scrapstars.net :)

This is what I have teased about for what feels like forever! I am so excited about the opportunity to be on the DT for this site!!! Scrapstars is a scrap challenge site with a rock twist! Our first challenge is to scrap the soundtrack of your life...and it has to include at least one album cover. Here's my page:

Hehe -- overachiever that I am, I used four covers! :)

The first one is Rich Mullins' The Jesus Record. So inspiring, and so sad because his life ended so tragically before he could record the album in a studio. This CD has two parts -- the demos (recorded by Mullins) and the studio versions recorded by friends and band members. I think I've listened to the 2nd CD once. Not impressed. The demos, on the other hand are amazing. Yeah, they're raw...a little difficult to hear at times. But they're filled with so much emotion and power that it doesn't matter.

Then there's Jim Croce's Greatest Hits. He is my absolute favorite singer of all time! My mom introduced me to his music when I was in college! (And isn't the title "Photographs and Memories" the perfect scrapping motto!) :)

Alanis Morissette -- my go-to girl when I want to be a little bit angry! I know not all of her stuff is angry, but it is empowering. That's why I like Under Rug Swept so much!

Mike and I saw Darden Smith at a taping of Woodsongs at the Kentucky Theater on our first date! So I have kind of a soft spot for him. My favorite song on his Sunflower album is "Perfect Moment" -- it makes me think of Mike!

I'd love to see each of you participate! The challenges we have planned are awesome!!! So are the prizes! :D

---------------------

What else...I've had a horrible sinus infection this week. I didn't feel too bad on Monday morning...just a little sniffly. Totally out of it by the end of the school day. Sneezing, stuffy, couldn't think straight. You know it's bad when someone stops by to borrow a video camera, and you struggle to remember that the name of the device is a "camera"! And of course the superintendant stopped by for a walk-thru observation. Not my best moment...but I don't expect judgements will be made over a 5 minute observation when I looked so ill! I took Tuesday off. Feeling so much better today!!!

I found out that one of my friends from high school now lives in the same town I live in now! We figured this out through myspace -- gonna go out with her for dinner on Tuesday night! Very excited to catch up with her!

I have another cool thing to tell you guys involving travel...gonna hold off on this until I know for sure, though. But I think it's pretty certain that we're going. Let's just say I'm very excited because I've never been overseas! :)

Those of you that won the felties -- I promise they're coming...I just didn't want to send my icky germs along with them! I'll have them in the mail by Saturday!

Have a great night!

Giveaway (I know, it's about time!)

Well, so much for getting this posted the next day! Last week was super-long. Probably because I had to go to work while Mike was on Spring Break. I thought today was easier, but then I crashed on the couch for over an hour after dinner! It is now midnight, and I show no signs of slowing down...

Lately I've been making these little felt cuties (I think they're cuties, anyway)! :)

You get to choose one of these little guys (they're owls, but they kinda look like penguins in a way -- lol), and I'll throw in some felt flowers, too!

I'll do three drawings/random number generations: one for my regular readers, one for the first-time visitors (since I'm posting about this on SIS), and then one for everyone. Just leave a comment telling me the last thing you made (and it doesn't have to be crafty -- it could be the Hot Pocket you popped in the microwave at lunch!) I'll draw the winners on Thursday night, to celebrate the return of The Office!

Gonna tease you all a little...

...just because it's fun! :D

Remember that "exciting opportunity" I mentioned on one of my daily cards not too long ago? Here's a litte eye-candy to keep you guessing! It's coming soon, and we (Shaunna, Jill, Amber and myself) are so excited!!!

Oh, and speaking of excitment, I'm gonna do a giveaway soon...maybe tomorrow! Stay tuned!
