Several years ago during his senior year of college, Mike taught a 4-week January term in Denmark. He traveled with another student for this term. For one week of this term, the two of them taught at a sports school. The school had organized a ski trip for a Saturday, and had in turn given the students the following Monday off to compensate. That Monday happened to fall on Martin Luther King Day.
That morning over breakfast, Mike wondered why classes were dismissed (they had arrived at the school on Sunday, after everyone had returned from the ski trip). As serious as she could be, the other student informed Mike that it was Martin Luther King Day -- of course they had the day off. :)
