The Great Loaf Massacre of 2010

Remember how I said that around here, when it comes to snow we are ginormous wimps?

Here's my proof:

This was the bread aisle in Walmart the night before the snow was scheduled to fall.  For some reason in Kentucky, when we hear the word "snow", somethings triggers our instincts to start hoarding mass amounts of bread.  Because we all know that bread lasts a long time.  Not like cans of soup.  Those things spoil within a week.*

*Disclaimer:  We did not go to Walmart that night to purchase bread, nor did we partake in the Great Loaf Massacre in any fashion.  The above is simply a GLM reenactment.  This is not to say that I didn't stock up on a week's worth of glue runners from the craft department.  Basic necessities are crucial, especially during uncertain times such as these.

I am cracking up!!!!!! Actually I have seen stores that look like that - just before a hurricane. In 2004 we had 2 hurricanes 21 days apart so just before the 2nd one I went to the store to get a few fresh items and more water. I had to wait in a long line and as I looked around, I realized that everyone had filled their carts with water and beer (once a hurricane starts and until further notice, the counties declare a state of emergency and all liquor sales are prohibited). So I guess it depends on what you think is a necessity! Thanks for sharing that pic and post, and for brightening my day!
