Another layout. Still no school.

Day 3 of no school.  Otherwise known at summer break. :P  I've been waiting all day to find out what tomorrow's call would be.  The county south of us (where Mike teaches) opted for a 1-hour delay.  The county we live in cancelled very early in the day.  Which left the county I teach in -- the one north of here.  I obsessively checked facebook and two local news stations throughout afternoon.  Speculation amongst teachers was we'd be in session tomorrow on the Snow Plan (in which buses run, but they stay on the main roads).  I settled down for a nice nap, and a little while later, the phone rang.  Crossing fingers..."Good afternoon.  Thursday, February 18, school will be..."

Please be a snow plan.  Please be a snow plan.

...cancelled."

AAAAAAAACCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK!

I've decided that I will start teaching architecture basics to the cat tomorrow.  It's really the only coping strategy I have left.  And then I'll assign her a cute kitty condo that she'll have to design.  Yes. That will make everything better.

Okay, I'm exaggerating a teensy bit.  Part of me is actually worried that I've grown a little too accustomed to this way of life -- sleeping in until 7, easing into my day, watching the Winter Olympics, playing with Lola.  I'm not going to lie, there is a part of me that has really enjoyed this break.  But, it's not permanent, and someday I'm going to have to work a full 5-day week.  That seems overwhelming right now.

Today we did manage to get into town for the first time since Sunday.  We went out for pizza, then to Walmart, which I'm normally not a huge fan of, but I'll make an exception for a situation such as this.  :)

I thought I would scrap more.  Monday's zest for scrapping has dwindled a bit.  Or I was holding back because I was on my last glue runner.  Ha.  I picked up more of them while I was out, plus had some photos printed.  So, fresh stuff to work with.  That usually helps.

I did get this one finished yesterday.  This is for the new Scrapjacked challenge.  This was taken while Mike was running his final leg of the Bourbon Chase last October.

And I got a valentine in the mail!  My parents always send me a little something for Valentine's Day!  This year, I got  a pretty pink card, and a cute keychain that hangs on the opening of a purse.  Pretty handy!   Thanks Mom and Dad!

Oh, and check out Jessi's car that she made for Toyota Racing's Sponsafy Your Ride Contest.  I know she'd really appreciate your votes!  And Sarah's sweet Maui is in a contest, too.  If you organize the results by most popular, you'll see Maui (a cute little white pup looking up at you).

Hope your day has been great!

I ♥ running LO's... & that one is cute! I'm off to run now, myself! On the treadmill, of course. Running while there's snow on the ground is not my idea of a good time!

And teaching Architectural Basics to the cat? Now that would be funny!

Enjoy the snow while it lasts. Before we know it, it'll be unbearably humid again! :-)
