...to make a quilt. I just can't find crib bedding that I really, truly like (even though I said a few weeks ago that I had decided on bedding). But yesterday, I found this quilt on etsy. It's too large for the crib, and not quite the right colors (I'd love to see some blue mixed in). But I love the pattern, so it has inspired me. I think this would be easy to modify to my liking. And the pattern seems simple. Or I could make something like this. Or this.
I even found some dinosaur fabric that would be perfect for the backing. At the very least, even if I don't use this fabric, these are the colors I have in mind.
It just makes more sense to make something that I'm pretty confident I'll like, than to pay way too much money for a set that I'm settling for.
I'm going into this with the realization that I have yet to finish the quilt I started in college. But this is a baby blanket, so it shouldn't be nearly as time-consuming...baby steps, right?

that is soo awesome!! That fabric is soo cute, I cannot wait to see the quilt that you create! :D
all of those are simple quilts and wouldn't take very long to make - the cutting out would take the longest time for the 1st and 3rd ones. I have made lots of quilts and if you need any advice or help, just let me know. The quilting itself might be your biggest issue but I am sure that you could find someone who would do it reasonably. Good luck - I look forward to seeing your quilt!
I agree with you! and I think it's going to be super cute! love the dino fabric!
