This is what I have teased about for what feels like forever! I am so excited about the opportunity to be on the DT for this site!!! Scrapstars is a scrap challenge site with a rock twist! Our first challenge is to scrap the soundtrack of your life...and it has to include at least one album cover. Here's my page:
Hehe -- overachiever that I am, I used four covers! :)
The first one is Rich Mullins' The Jesus Record. So inspiring, and so sad because his life ended so tragically before he could record the album in a studio. This CD has two parts -- the demos (recorded by Mullins) and the studio versions recorded by friends and band members. I think I've listened to the 2nd CD once. Not impressed. The demos, on the other hand are amazing. Yeah, they're raw...a little difficult to hear at times. But they're filled with so much emotion and power that it doesn't matter.
Then there's Jim Croce's Greatest Hits. He is my absolute favorite singer of all time! My mom introduced me to his music when I was in college! (And isn't the title "Photographs and Memories" the perfect scrapping motto!) :)
Alanis Morissette -- my go-to girl when I want to be a little bit angry! I know not all of her stuff is angry, but it is empowering. That's why I like Under Rug Swept so much!
Mike and I saw Darden Smith at a taping of Woodsongs at the Kentucky Theater on our first date! So I have kind of a soft spot for him. My favorite song on his Sunflower album is "Perfect Moment" -- it makes me think of Mike!
I'd love to see each of you participate! The challenges we have planned are awesome!!! So are the prizes! :D
---------------------
What else...I've had a horrible sinus infection this week. I didn't feel too bad on Monday morning...just a little sniffly. Totally out of it by the end of the school day. Sneezing, stuffy, couldn't think straight. You know it's bad when someone stops by to borrow a video camera, and you struggle to remember that the name of the device is a "camera"! And of course the superintendant stopped by for a walk-thru observation. Not my best moment...but I don't expect judgements will be made over a 5 minute observation when I looked so ill! I took Tuesday off. Feeling so much better today!!!
I found out that one of my friends from high school now lives in the same town I live in now! We figured this out through myspace -- gonna go out with her for dinner on Tuesday night! Very excited to catch up with her!
I have another cool thing to tell you guys involving travel...gonna hold off on this until I know for sure, though. But I think it's pretty certain that we're going. Let's just say I'm very excited because I've never been overseas! :)
Those of you that won the felties -- I promise they're coming...I just didn't want to send my icky germs along with them! I'll have them in the mail by Saturday!
Have a great night!

I also head strait to my Alanis collection when I am feeling a wee bit angry..noticing that it is less and less these days though, which is a good thing.
